About Us

The Tallahassee Area Association of Environmental Professionals (TAAEP) is an affiliate of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (FAEP).  The Florida state chapter was founded in 1987 and has eight local chapters throughout the state. Our group convenes monthly to network and learn about current topics pertaining to our fields and specific to our region.

The group is a diverse representation of the many types of professional environmental fields found in Florida both public sector and private sector.  Our members include  environmental engineers, environmental attorneys, planners, wetland scientists, geologists, botanists, zoologists, biologists, hydrologists, and many other disciplines that perform environmental work.  New members are always welcome!  Or if you would just like to see what we are about, feel free to come to a meeting before you join!  Meetings are held every month unless otherwise stated.  Meetings alternate each month between hour long educational luncheons and happy hour mingling events.  Food is provided with door fee ($5 for members and $10 for non-members).

TAAEP is governed by a Board of Directors and board meetings are typically once a month, conducted via conference call.

Membership dues are $40 for FAEP and an additional $20 for the Tallahassee chapter.  Click here to access membership fee data.  Employers who have 5 or more members are eligible for the discounted FAEP membership rate of $35/member.  FAEP membership dues for students are $15.

As a member of FAEP you will be able to attend local chapter events and the annual conference at a discounted rate.  Membership also gives you access to our Member Directory, a comprehensive database that links you to more than 800-900 Environmental Professionals in the state of Florida.

If your are an Environmental Professional, want to build your professional network and learn more about current issues, come to our events, and find out today why FAEP and our local Tallahassee chapter are so successful!
